brand highlights of 2014
It's officially a new year and just like you I am excited for the possibilities that it holds. When a year ends, we look back at the events that helped define brand success though the year. As 2014 comes to a close here are a few highlights that made the year memorable for us.
The year was kickoff with a great collab with our friends over at Publish. Highlighted throughout the release is our signature Fog Camo pattern — a nod to San Francisco’s perpetually foggy conditions. The execution of the project was one of our best to date. The look-book was created by the famous and talented trashhand and the launch party was epic! Thank you Publish for everything!
We asked over 70 of our favorite artist from around the world to reinterpret our original glider plane logo. The show was debuted at Agenda and then traveled back to our San Francisco Home to be displayed in our flagship store. If you missed the show the planes are now available in our online store here.
There was a second round to our popular collab with sunglass company knockaround. Production was limited to 2000 pieces and sold out within hours of its release.
For the first time we offered multiple seasons. We are now on a seasonal calendar with our release and no were to go but up. Thank you to all the stores that supported our expansion. We appreciate it and couldn't have done it without you!
We teamed up with JanSport once again, but included Red Wing to supply the leather for the collab. The Limited Edition Rightpack is now available in our SF store and online here while supplies last.
We also endured a substantial setbacks of getting burned out of our old warehouse space. We are now settled into our new space and poked a little fun at our neighborhood with a pawn shop inspired window display.
A few famous people were seen wearing the Benny Gold brand. Thank you Nas and Curren$y for support through the year!
I am honored and thankful that our paper airplane icon means as much to others as it does to us! Thank you to everyone that permanently tattooed it on them!
We made the front page San Francisco's news paper the Chronicle. You can read the feature here.
We worked with Bay Area legends 510 Skateboarding to presents their 510 Dunk. It's a heavyweight canvas features our custom Fog Camo print. The tongue label and insole reveal the 510 logo that I was commissioned to design several years back.
Last but not least we re-imagined our web experience. It was long over due and the new stite offers a more personal experience. I sdaid it before, but the Benny Gold brand has more momentum now than ever before and we can't wait to show you what we have in-store for 2015. Happy New Year!
