Alyasha Owerka-Moore

1. How did you get started in design / art?

Through my mother. She’s always been one of my biggest creative influences. we used to draw together when I was a child. She always had me in creative programs after school and on weekends being that I was a latch key kid. She was always making or building things. Later she worked at the Met in the Art Education dept. I don’t know that I consider myself an”artist", but I love the creative process.

2. Favorite Shirt graphic of all time?

That is a tough one. So many great graphics over the years. Maybe, 2 Black Guys “100% Cotton” tee.

3. What inspires you?

The Creative Process. Problem Solving. Research, Science, Travel, Skateboarding, My Friends. Learning new things. Watching my friends succeed in the things they want to do.

4. Is there a design out there that you wish you did?

The Geodesic Dome or Dymaxion Car.

5. What's left on your design bucket list?

Not much. I hope I do not sound cocky, but I’ve designed most of the pieces I’ve wanted at one point in time or another and for different clients and am proud of my contributions.  Now, it’s about learning to be a better business person.
